Coiling
Tollman Spring has the capability of making compression and extension springs in wire diameters ranging from .004” to .207”. Tollman’s manufacturing facilities feature modern CNC multi-axis, cam-less coilers that result in shorter setups and greater versatility than their predecessors. The result: faster cycle times, tighter tolerances and self-correcting gauges that enable the operator to better handle required loads. To complement this state-of-the-art equipment, Tollman lists among its equipment two modern grinding machines than can down-feed or single pass grind in the spring ends.
Fourslide Stamping
Four slide machines are often the most economical way to produce flat springs, stampings and wire forms. Four slide tools can also cost substantially less than progressive die tooling, thereby reducing start-up costs. Furthermore, complex forming operations that cannot be completed on a power press without secondary operations can be easily – and economically – accomplished on Tollman’s four slide machines, which have the capability of manufacturing parts made from flat stock or wire in a variety of materials. All Tollman fourslide tools are designed, built and manufactured by tool and die makers specially trained in the art of fourslide manufacturing.
Wire Forms
At Tollman Spring, computer-controlled, multi-axis wire form machines are used to make intricately shaped wire products ranging from .004” to .156” wire diameters. Critical dimensions are measured using probes and laser technology to maintain the angular positioning required to get the job done and done right. At Tollman, most wire form parts can be made without the need to purchase expensive tooling.
